Fort Mill, SC – As part of its commitment to the emotional, spiritual, and relational health of global healthcare missionaries MedSend recently convened the first Global Member Care Forum from June 11-13 in Charlotte, NC. The forum focused on bringing together mission sending organizations that send and support global healthcare missionaries to discuss models and means for responding to an increasingly difficult and dangerous world.
28 leaders attended from eleven of the largest US based mission sending agencies.
Topics discussed included:
- What are the realities and complexities of member care?
- What aspects of member care are working well?
- How does member care need to be transformed to meet the needs of today’s missionary?
- Brainstorm session regarding future resource and deployment models for member care.
Rick Allen, MedSend CEO said, “It is our intention to use our unique position of partnering with over fifty sending agencies to look for opportunity to focus resources and relationships in order to address issues that beset us all.
